Olympics, The pinnacle of measuring athletic ability in the whole world.

All the athletes want to perform well and win medals here. Aspiration, game, and athletic ability's pinnacle are seen connected to the Olympics and it is seen as the biggest sports event in the world.

But the problem is that this aspect of the Olympics is very much talked about, but very less discussion is being done on its dark side.

How the cities which host the Olympics are destroyed, is never talked about.

Every year the expenditure on the Olympics is increasing, but the outcome is very less. The news that how the Olympics affects the environment every year is never told, and that's why I will talk about this in this article.

First of all, let's talk about how Olympics destroys the cities, every year Olympics have only been a loss for the cities. IOC confirms that the city in which the Olympics is held will be glorified, and so many people will come to that city and so many ticket sales would be there. But every time, the ticket sales are less than expected, and IOC takes half of the revenue of the Olympics, (6 billion dollars) the second thing is that every time the expected budget of the Olympics exceeds itself, and not by a small amount, but by a large one.

After the Olympics are completed, the stadiums are left abandoned, and very little discussion is done on this aspect. The Olympics are consistent, becoming more and more expensive every year.

The current budget of this year's Tokyo Olympics is 26 billion dollars. This Olympic was to be held in 2020, which was delayed due to the pandemic, and due to the pandemic. the budget is increased by 2.8 billion dollars, multiply this digit by 74, and check the value in rupees, your mind will be blown.

Such a big budget is required for ONE year's Olympics,

the budget of making the stadiums are also exceeding.

and this is not about one year or one city,

but this is a tradition,

but the problem is that the cities spend so much money,

and they are told that there will be high ticket sales will be there, which are not there,

the 2/3rd of the revenue generated by IOC comes from broadcasting rights,

which are due to the money spent by cities in these Olympics,

the broadcasting rights for events whose opening and closing ceremony is seen by the whole world on TV

and all that money is taken away by IOC

and IOC does not even spend on making the stadiums,

they just tell that the stadiums and the parameters should be like this and this,

and all that money is spent by the cities, but the outcome is very less,

the third is environmental impact,

in 2014, the Olympics were held in Sochi, Russia,

and it is said that so much environmental impact was made there that the forests were seen like Construction sites,

there was so much deforestation there, and big equipment was taken there,

and the Rubble created was also thrown into the environmentally protected sights,

in 2016, when the Olympics were held in Rio, then the water was so much polluted that,

you can become seriously ill by drinking even a small amount of water,

and then the athletes were in danger too and the zika virus outbreak too,

and the environmental conversational people in Korea tell that,

irreparable damage was done there due to the Olympics in 2018,

and a downhill track was created there, by cutting thousands of trees to perform an event there,

now, this dark side of Olympics is always hidden amongst all the glare of the Olympics,

I want the Olympics to be held too,

and I want medals to come to our country too,

it is a pinnacle of athletic ability too,

but its dark side should also be talked about,

I don't want cities to pump billions of dollars in this,

just to get nothing out of it,

and then the cities remain in debt for so long time,

IOC make their money easily, but the environmental impact is not talked about,

hence these things should be discussed too,

and hence Olympics must be held but by taking care of its darker side too.
